Ljubljana is the cutest capital city...Capital of Slovenia

This year was my first year in Europe (before it was also my year for Asia too). I've had the pleasure to travel to 15 of Europe's magnificent capital cities. My favorite is exactly the same as last year. The charming, quirky, and underrated European city of cold Capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.

A short train ride from the beauty of Lake Bled, which by now has made it to the main stream Europe destination list you can conveniently visit both over a long period of time.

So, why do I like it so many times? What is it that makes it my preferred capital city? And why should you begin researching ways to travel to and from Ljubljana for your next visit.

WANDERING ON FOOT

I love spending my time in Europe wandering down little alleys as I look through shop windows and soaking up the coffee culture. This is a city that is suitable for this! It's compact enough and is centered in the middle of the river. Some people say its like an uninvolved version of Amsterdam I think that's a good thing.

SURROUNDED BY NATURE

Slovenia is a stunning nation, both for its warm hospitality and stunning landscape. The panorama from the top of the castle, which overlooks the mountains is beyond impressive particularly in the evening.

FOODIE HEAVEN

If you're done with your coffee consumption for the day, or your after-dinner drinks by the river Ljubljana is a great choice for dining alternatives. The cobbled streets as well as the outside tables make for a great location to enjoy some local cuisines, including the famous Bled cake (that is the case if you are unable to get to Bled for a real Bled cake.) Visit the market for an exciting way to eat on some of the local Slovenia sausage specialities.

This is my kind of city to have a small spending. There are lots of famous streets but on these tiny streets are some really special treasures. From old vinyl shops to tiny boutiques and collectables stores, you can easily have a great time picking out stuff that might not be essential but make your house look that one notch cooler.

SIMPLY ENJOY A LAID BACK CAPITAL

Capital cities can be wild stunning, bold and gorgeous all yet in Ljubljana it is possible to relax and relax. With plenty of other locations within reach, make it a great base to explore Slovenia. Slovenia is definitely a place high on my list to return to.
